Hello and congratulations on making it to the second milestone.  We do have a Facebook group If you would like to join just make sure to answer all membership questions and agree to group rules. Don't forget the golden hour sessions that you must attend. The requirement is two sessions, but you can definitely do more.

You are now cleared to sign up for your Medical, trauma, and Psychomotor/BLS Skills testing Day.  Remember you must take the 4 hour Medical Prep session and the 4 hour trauma prep sessions first. (Currently required for Georgia/Florida, Louisiana, and Amazon students). These are virtual sessions that you do not come to an office for and are open for everyone. You will receive a separate e-mail with your access code to sign up.  You will sign up on the student website which is student.rchealthservices.com; PASSWORD: EMT123$.  To sign up for the virtual prep days, you will see that as a separate "location" on the skills page of the student website.

It is mandatory that students complete the online HeartCode course at home prior to attending your scheduled psychomotor testing day at an RC Health Services Training Center. The BLS skills session will be completed at an RQI station which can only be accessed after the Heartcode portion has been completed.

To register for your in-person RQI skills session follow these steps:

  1. Register for Psychomotor Skills Day: You must first register for your NREMT psychomotor skills day to have access to RQI registration.

  2. Access Your Student Portal: Begin by logging into the designated student portal website provided by RC Health Services.

  3. Navigate to the Skills Area: Within the portal, locate and select the section labeled "Skills Area".

  4. Initiate Course Registration: Select the option to “Register for a BLS Course.” This will guide you to the scheduling page.

  5. Select Your Location: A list of training cities will be provided. You must carefully select the city where you plan to attend your psychomotor skills day. BLS Skills check-off will be on the same day and same location as your psychomotor testing.

  6. Choose the Specific Course Type: Select "EMT BLS/CPR Certification Contactless." This specific course designation ensures you are registering for the correct RQI-based skills validation.

  7. Enter Your Access Code and Finalize Registration:

    • You will be prompted to enter your personal access code. This code is unique to you and can be found at the top of this email, in your welcome email and admin order.

    • Crucially, you must register for a session that is scheduled to take place on the same day that your psychomotor skills day is scheduled to occur, this should be the only option available. Aligning these dates is essential for the certification timeline and ensuring a streamlined testing process. If the system allows you to register for other times and days, please let our EMT Administration Team know immediately at emt@rchealthservices.com

You may need to apply for an extension to finish the course.  If you are attempting to sign up for skills that are within 30 days of your end date, you will not be able to do so.

In order to qualify for an extension you must meet the following criteria:

  • Paid in full

  • Complete lectures and quizzes Ch. 1-24

  • Completed your medical exam

If you had a date in mind  that you did not see popping up for you in the student portal, this could be because the course is full or the course is within 30 days of your course end date.  You may need to apply for an extension if you have not done this at all during this enrollment period.  To apply for an extension you will go to the student website support area and click on "I need an Extension" and fill in the information.  An instructor will review and then send a payment link if approved.   A 90 day extension is $200. Payment must be made for the end of the day on your course end date. You will only be allowed one 90 day extension.

Make sure you are referencing the EMT Checklist that you received in orientation to make sure you are completing all program requirements. Each program will have it's own checklist.

A few reminders:

You need to submit your Health History, which includes your Physical Exam and Immunization records as early as possible.  This is a common cause for a student to not finish their program in time.  Upload these documents in PDF format to the support portal via "I want to turn in a document." Make sure to choose the correct department. Labeled properly with last name, first name, document name.  Do not send the documents via the student portal as your documents could be lost.

Departments:

EMT Nationwide  - All students not in a GA, LA, or TX program

EMT Georgia - Georgia students

EMT Louisiana - Louisiana Students

EMT Amazon - Amazon students

As a reminder, uniforms are now required for all Skills days.  Information for the uniform requirements can be found in the Student Handbook and the Clinical Guidelines manual.  The uniform consists of:

Polo Shirt - Navy blue

Pants - Black or Navy blue (cargo pants or “work” pants)

Boots – Black, closed toe, non-slip.  (They do not have to be steel toe)

Belt – Black, leather or woven

Equipment – BP Cuff, Stethoscope, Watch (with second hand, or stopwatch feature), pen light, trauma shears, notepad.

Now would be a good time to request your ID for your Clinicals. To do this, please send in a professional headshot selfie, taken against a light colored wall.  By "professional" I mean no duck faces or hand gestures.  (Yes, I have to tell everyone that!)

Send that picture via the support portal and choose I want to submit for my clinical ID Badge, and include the following information:

                  Name

                  Mailing Address

                  Your course ID

                  Your course end date

Your level of training – EMT

Do this today!  You have to have your badge in order to attend clinicals.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.

Good luck with the rest of your course!
