Renewing BLS Within ACLS or PALS

If you need to maintain an ACLS or PALS card for work, chances are you need to maintain your BLS as well. Thankfully, the American Heart Association allows you to renew your BLS as a part of your ACLS and PALS course! 

ACLS or PALS do not teach all of the skills required for BLS. ACLS doesn't teach Infant CPR, PALS doesn't teach Adult CPR, and neither of them require the BLS written exam. In order to renew your BLS as part of your ACLS or PALS, your instructor will administer the appropriate skills test and written exams. Note this will add some time to your class, but for many it is worth it to save so much time!
